DENTAL CROWNS

Got a broken or chipped tooth?

Dental crowns are mainly used to restore broken teeth. They fit over an existing tooth to restore its size, shape, strength and/or to improve its appearance.

Designed as a permanent solution to weak or compromised teeth, we custom make each crown to fit your exact bite to create a better, more functional and cosmetically pleasing tooth.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DENTAL CROWNS

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE CROWN PROCEDURE?

We will first need to book an appointment so we can prepare your tooth for its new crown. We will take impressions and match your shade to make sure we get a perfect colour match to your natural tooth. Then three weeks later you’ll return to have your custom made crown bonded onto your tooth.

HOW MUCH DOES A CROWN COST?

The cost of crowns can vary depending on the materials that have been chosen. However, most crowns start from only £437 per tooth. You can view our treatment fee guide here ->

WHAT MATERIAL IS USED TO MAKE THE CROWN?

There are many different options for the materials used when making crowns. Porcelain crowns are the most popular because they don’t contain metal and they give a more natural appearance as opposed to traditional metal or gold crowns. Your dentist will advise you on the appropriate material for you.

WILL I HAVE ANY DISCOMFORT WITH A CROWN?

Normally, no. However, some patients find they may have some sensitivity for a period of time after the crown has been fitted but this usually settles down within a few days.

HAPPY PATIENT

“My front tooth had been badly chipped for years. It was pretty embarrassing but I never did anything about it because I thought it would be a big bother. During a checkup my dentist spent a few minutes talking about the different ways I could improve my smile and we decided a crown would be perfect for me. And it was. Best of all it was almost no hassle at all and I feel great about my smile now.“

DENTAL BRIDGES

A BRIDGE TO A BETTER SMILE

If you’re missing one or more teeth, your dentist may recommend a custom made bridge.

Gaps left by missing teeth can cause your remaining teeth to shift or rotate into the empty space, which could result in a bad bite.

Your new bridge will be cemented to the natural teeth surrounding the empty space and serve as anchors for the bridge. And, as with crowns, you will have a choice of different materials.

We offer two types of bridges – a conventional fixed bridge or an adhesive bridge. Your dentist will help you decide which would be more suitable for your requirements based on the location of the missing tooth, its function and cosmetic considerations.
